Ambitious plan for more units at Vale Park

AMBITIOUS plans for more than 50,000 square foot of industrial space at Vale Park in Evesham have been submitted to Wychavon planning chiefs.

Property company Hortons’ Estate Limited has applied for planning permission to Wychavon District Council to build a single 15,000 sq ft unit and a further 39,000 sq ft of smaller units, which will be built on a speculative basis, ranging in size from 3,500 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft.

The proposed development, called Asparagus Point, will also provide 92 car parking spaces and, subject to planning permssion being granted, construction will commence in Spring with completion before the end of the year.

Bosses at the developer hope the new site will open its doors by the end of the year.

The new development would be the latest addition to the rapidly expanding site which has become a hub for business since it first opened in the late 1990s.

Vale Park is a designated Food Enterprise Zone, which aims to encourage the expansion of food and farming businesses while town haulage firm R Sinclair Transport are set to move their base to the park.

Richard Norgrove, property director at Birmingham-based Hortons’ Estate, said: “Vale Park is a well-established business park, strategically located on the A46 with links to the M5 and M42. However, there is a lack of good quality available industrial space, particularly smaller units, in the area to satisfy the demand.

“Recognising this, we have submitted plans to the council for a new development that will help address this.”
