Almonry will remember them

Evesham Editorial 7th Aug, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016

EVESHAM’s popular Almonry will host a new exhibition this summer commemorating the First World War and honour the country’s fallen heroes.

Entitled ‘We Will Remember Them’, the exhibition looks at ways we remember the war dead, through poppies, poetry, memorials and ceremonies.

Curated by Jeff King, the former chairman of the Royal British Legion, and Adele Webb, Almonry Heritage Centre Assistant, visitors will be able to view previously unseen photos, medals and memorabilia.

A special launch day is being held at the Almonry tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am where Mr King will meet with people to talk about the displays and what the symbolism means.

Visit www.almonryevesham.org for more information on the exhibition and other activities at the Almonry.
