PERSHORE’S popular Plum Festival returns this weekend with plenty of fun for all ages.
It gets under way this Saturday, August 27, with plums, festival characters, entertainment, food and drink, festival merchandise, balloon modelling and horticultural advice from the Vale Heritage Landscape Trust.
On Sunday, August 28, there will be the Plum Plodders 10K race, finishing in Abbey Park, Plum Pooches in the Park Dog Show and the Teddy Plum Praise Service at the park’s bandstand.
There will also be a food village, trade stands, South Worcestershire lifeguards and the Danters Fun Fair.
The Plum Fun Zone will include Samba drumming, Worcestershire County Council Waste Less, the Green Ape smoothie man, pony rides, bouncy castle and inflatable slide, Lizzie B’s face-painting, Mini-Scrummers Rugby, Super Sports Experience, RSPB, Slimming World, Pershore Rugby, Pershore Riverside Centre and Steve Cooper Blacksmith.
The pinnacle of the Plum Festival takes place on bank holiday Monday when the Abbey Bells will ring at 9.30am in celebration.
Plumbassadors will be on hand throughout the weekend to help and advise and there will be a Park and Ride on bank holiday Monday from Pershore High School, Pershore College and the Civic Centre Car Park.
