A POPULAR Bretforton pub will be opening its doors this weekend for its annual Apple and Ale Festival with 25 ales from Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire available.
The Fleece Inn in Bretforton will concentrate this year on reducing beer miles whilst keeping the local taste – including the only cask available of Purity’s Maravilla. Ciders stay local too, with old favourites and some new suppliers.
The selection of beers and ciders is complemented by live music and Sunday will see some Morris dancing as local side Pebworth dance alongside Adlington Morris from the North West on their annual pilgrimage down south.
Landlord Nigel Smith said: “This year’s Apple and Ale Festival is about combining tradition and innovation: we are serving ales from new brewers alongside traditional cider.”
Also on the line-up is apple pressing using vintage equipment, kids’ activities, tastings, vintage lorries and steam engines, as well as food and refreshment.
