All aboard for latest meeting

BUSINESSES across Evesham are being invited to hop aboard the Spirit of Freedom boat for the latest meeting of the town’s business group VECTA.

The Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association (VECTA) support local commerce by lobbying the council, supporting other businesses and getting involved in festivals and local events.

Their aim is to develop Evesham into a more vibrant and attractive place to live, work, thrive and survive. The group has supported many business and tourism events over the years since it was formed more than 30years ago.

Recently, the group have played an active role in the town’s anti-litter campaign, Cyclefest, Port Street Fayre and the Battle of Evesham.

VECTA meet on the second Wednesday of every month for an hour. Meetings start at 6pm and all members and non-members are welcome and the next event on October 10 aboard the Spirit of Freedom is an open evening with drinks and nibbles to encourage further local interest.

Chair of the group Deborah Rolls from Areca Design, the Evesham-based creative marketing company, said: “We are looking to connect with people from businesses and organisations who wish to help Evesham thrive and grow in to the future.

“We are a friendly bunch and everyone is welcome! Membership is a pound a week and that money go to help events and organisations in Evesham, for Evesham.”
