CONCERNED Vale residents were among the estimated 700,000 people at the People’s Vote march in London.
Evesham Labour Party members met in Park Lane in the Saturday sunshine and walked to Hyde Park Corner and then across the parks to Parliament Square to hear speeches from Caroline Lucas, Chuka Umunna, Vince Cable and Anna Soubry.
Despite the numbers both police and demonstrators remained calm and the whole event passed off peacefully.
Sue Picton, one of the Evesham Labour Party group, said: “It was a truly memorable and remarkable day that it was a real privilege to be part of – but will it have an effect? I certainly hope so!”
Campaign group Worcestershire For Europe were also in attendance and chair Stuart Thomson labelled the march as ‘colossal’.
“The fact we were able to fill five coaches from this area alone shows the strength of feeling.
“If people are expecting to see the fantasy Brexit promised by Vote Leave, they are in for a huge shock.”
