A KIND-HEARTED Evesham youngster saddled up to help raise cash to send her friend on a trip of a lifetime.

Aimee Lane put pedal to the metal and cycled an astonishing 53 miles in a bike ride organised by members of Evesham Wheelers.

The caring 10-year-old raised £215 on her own thanks to the bike ride around the Cotswolds to raise cash for her friend Grace Dolphin, who is battling an adult form of blood cancer.

The brave seven-year-old is at the centre of the Go Grace appeal set up to send her and her family to Disneyland in America.

And the cash is set to keep collecting as the St Egwin’s Middle School pupil has been sponsored by Johnsons Chartered Surveyors, who will be donating an as yet undecided sum of money.

Aimee completed the ride, which began and finished at Broadway First School, in three hours 13 minutes.

The Go Grace campaign hopes to raise around £5,000 to enable Grace to experience the journey of a lifetime and any extra

funds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, where Grace’s family they stay in Birmingham during her chemotherapy sessions.

Proud mum Ellie Lane and dad Andrew Milner said: “It was a challenging course with a number of hills and a number of the older riders were coming back exhausted.

“Aimee kept up with the more senior riders for quite a while and we are so proud of her for raising such a good amount of money for a fantastic cause.” they added.
