A GROUP of Yates Court residents scaled the heights at Evesham Leisure Centre to enjoy indoor rock climbing.
One of the group tackling the challenge was 98 years old and staff from the High Street retirement village worked out the total age of those taking part was 1,040.
Bev Jones, team leader at Yates Court, said it was the most fun staff and residents had enjoyed for a long time.
“The leisure centre couldn’t believe it when I booked up for the climb,” she said.
“Lots of people stopped to watch and were cheering as our residents got higher. Thank you to all the staff at the centre and also to the manager Kay who was with us.
“We are now looking at booking some more activities in the future because this should prove age is no barrier.”
