PUPILS from the De Montfort School spent an afternoon exploring the history and hearing about the future of Evesham Abbey.
A group of 30 pupils led by deputy heads Fiona Lovecy and Stuart Weston, joined Evesham Abbey trustee Steve Davies at the Almonry Museum to, firstly, hear about the history of the Abbey.
The pupils also visited Eof’s statue and walked the Abbey site. This included the opportunity for them to step inside the walls to see the cloister area and then began a photographic survey of the Post Dissolution Wall.
Trustee Steve Davies said: “The work done by the pupils, their photographs along with the film taken from the school’s drone, will prove to be very useful for the Trust as we begin our work on the restoration of this historic wall”.
The pupils will be reporting their findings back to the Trust very shortly.
