A sign of intent over crime

CRIME-preventing residents in Fladbury have been backed with two new Neighbourhood Watch signs at the entrances to the village.

Craig Cox, chairperson of West Mercia Neighbourhood Watch was on hand at a meeting of Fladbury Parish Council to present co-ordinator Ian Baldry with the signs after 118 households signed up to the scheme in just three months.

He praised the efforts of Mr Baldry and PC Paul Brown and PCSO Chris Tugwell who have ensured Fladbury had the fastest growth of any new Neighbourhood Watch scheme across West Mercia.

Fladbury is the only village in Wychavon with a Neighbourhood Watch covering the whole village and PC Brown said he hoped others would follow suit.

“Through Neighbourhood Watch we need the public to act as our eyes and ears in helping to prevent crime. I would be very happy to provide advice to any villages within Wychavon who are wanting to set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme,” he said.
