A royal summer for Plum trio

THE 2019 Pershore Plum Princess and her attendants have been crowned at a glittering event at the town’s Angel Hotel as the plummy celebrations begin.

Ten-year-old Rosie Jones, who attends Abbey Park Middle School, was victorious in being chosen to represent the Plum Festival at a series of events throughout the summer.

She will be joined by her attendants Sophie Middleston, aged nine and Caitlin Doel, also aged 9.

The crowning of the Plum Princess kicked off this year’s plum celebrations at the Plum Blossom Sunday event earlier this month.

Angela Taylor, Chair of the Pershore Plum Festival, said: “These lovely young ladies will be representing the Plum Festival throughout the coming year and if you are planning any kind of plum event or activity and would like them to attend, please contact us to check their availability.

“Congratulations and thanks to all concerned for a wonderful event and good luck to all the girls in the coming weeks.”
