A ‘QUACKING’ event will be held at St George’s Field in support of this year’s Pershore Carnival.
The inaugural Duck Race, sponsored by Hill View Ducks, will take place on Easter Sunday (April 5) from 10.30am with the race kicking off at midday.
Up to 1,000 ducks will take to the water for the race with a cash prize of £75 on offer for the winner while £50 and £25 will be available for the second and third place ducks.
Prizes of £15 and £10 will be handed out to the ducks finishing fourth and fifth and the Observer is throwing its support behind the event by sponsoring a duck.
Should our challenger, number 232, cross the line in the first five places, the cash prize will be donated to the Carnival.
Duck numbers are available for £1.50 from TC Fireplaces in Bakers Arcade while the event will also include a funfair, Easter
Egg tombola and Treasure Hunt.
