THERE’S fabulous auction prizes and much more besides at a supercharged Macmillan Coffee Morning planned for The Old Bull in Inkberrow on Friday, September 27.

The pub, known throughout the world as the watering hole in the long running BBC Radio 4 soap The Archers, has got the entire village community and beyond to contribute to what is sure to be a bumper fundraising event for the caring charity.

It’s all been organised by pub team member Mishelle Read who’s managed to pull together a mouthwatering selection of attractions to go under the hammer plus raffle prizes for every week of the year.

Not only that but there’s a special prize for anyone who can correctly guess the IQ of pub landlord Joe Reid’s boxer dog Bill Bonkers.

“I just believe that everyone in some sort of way is connected to cancer and over the years I have lost many a customer to this disease and as a community everyone has thrown their weight behind this venture, which is truly amazing,” said Mishelle.

The auction prizes include a champagne breakfast and tour of Tom Gretton’s race horse stables, a mountain bike from Redditch-based Cycle Studio, a hot air balloon ride from Thomas Brothers funeral directors, a clay pigeon shoot, a peal of bells to be rung from St Peter’s Church next door, a signed 1991 England cricket team shirt from Worcestershire County Cricket Club, and much more.

Not only that but the mum and dad of Archers character Ed Grundy are coming up from Bristol to run a stall, Radio Hereford-Worcester presenter Malcolm Boyden is set to do a live phone-in and fabulous local artist John Harris is donating one of his past times posters of Inkberrow as a prize in the guest the weight of the pumpkin competition.

The auction is already in operation and raffle tickets are also on sale – just pop into the pub.

The coffee morning itself starts at 9am on September 27 with the auction bids cut off at midday.
