A festive message from the Mayor of Pershore

Evesham Editorial 25th Dec, 2017   0

WE HAVE just enjoyed a series of fantastic winter concerts in Pershore’s iconic Abbey and the summer series of events and festivals were a great success in 2017.

The various committees and hard working volunteers who organise them are already planning to make their 2018 events even better – the Carnival will celebrate its 50th anniversary!

I was pleased to see the snow of a week or so back caused comparatively little disruption, thanks to the work of the County Council gritters and Wychavon’s contractors keeping the roads clear and making pavements safe.

At this happy time of year, we should also have a thought for those less fortunate, who are perhaps grieving for a departed loved one, lonely or unwell; also those whose Christmas dinner relies on the foodbank or who lack a secure roof over their heads.

It just remains for me to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2018!

Coun Bob Gillmor
