A MUSICIAN and songwriter from the Vale has dropped his latest single inspired by mid 90s Britpop sound.
Can’t Take My Mind Away From You, by Steve Attridge and the Sleeping Giants was released by North Star on all digital platforms on November 12.
Guitarist Steve, who co-runs the family business Ranch Caravan Park in Honeybourne, said that the seasonal nature of the industry meant he had more time to focus on his music projects during the winter.

He told the Observer: “I liked the idea of writing a song in the style of the mid-90s Britpop era, when I seriously got into music as a teenager.
“A big Oasis fan, I was actually there watching Oasis at Knebworth 96 as well as being a huge Ocean Colour Scene and The Verve fan.
“There has obviously been a rebirth of this music in recent times especially with the Oasis reunion.”
Steve Attridge and the Sleeping Giants is a collaborative songwriting project where he brings in local musicians to record songs.

Can’t Take My Mind Away From You features the vocals of Birmingham’s John Paul Blake from indie/garage/rock band, The Klatter.
It was recorded at Rhythm Studios in Bidford and produced by BAFTA-awardee Paul Johnston who also played drums, bass and keyboards.

The new release comes five years after the previous single Space to Breathe in 2020.
Steve and co have also previously had radio play with BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcester, and performed at Wychwood Festival with Paul Johnston and Andrew James.
Steve, who went to Evesham High, started learning to play the guitar around age 15 along with his mates.
Taught after school by well known musician Lance Perkins, he added: “It was the thing to do – guitar bands were it in the 1990s.”
He previously played in cover band Full Company for a number of years, and has always enjoyed songwriting and recording.
Future plans include forming a new Evesham-based cover band.
