MORE than 150 early risers gathered to celebrate the summer solstice last Saturday (June 21) with a magical sunrise walk from The Valley to the neighbouring New Farm Nature Reserve.
The event, which took in breathtaking views over the Vale of Evesham, brought the community together in a joyful celebration of the longest day of the year said organisers.
Walkers were treated to a stunning sunrise and a vibrant display of solstice spirit, with colourful ribbon dances honouring centuries of seasonal celebration.
The event was sponsored by UK clothing brand Regatta, which provided complimentary gifts to all participants and opened their store at the retail and leisure park early to welcome enthusiastic shoppers.
Coffee shop, Coffee#1, also joined the festivities, opening at dawn to serve much-needed refreshments to the walkers after their early start.
The walk was led by The Valley’s retail director Phil Maclean, who said: “It was a truly magical morning.
“There’s something incredibly special about watching the sun rise with your community, surrounded by nature and tradition.”
Organisers are already looking ahead to next year’s event.
