AN 80’S pop star is set to switch on the Christmas Lights at The Valley next Thursday.

The lead singer of Kajagoogoo, Limahl, will be performing at the fun-packed festive event which officially marks the start of Christmas season at the out-of-town shopping centre.

The 80’s band stormed to the top of the charts with their hit ‘Too Shy,’ before Limahl moved onto solo success with his global hit ‘Never Ending Story.’

Festivities at The Valley kick off at 6pm and the event will be hosted by Touch FM presenters Ollie and Si.

The Light switch on signifies the official start of Late Night Shopping and the Christmas Market, with all shops open until 8pm and on selected dates throughout December.

The evening will also see performances by bands Chasing Deer, Matt Bate, the Stagecoach Performing Arts Evesham Group and Father Christmas will also be making an appearance.
