HARD-WORKING organisers of Pershore Carnival have announced the theme for the town’s landmark 50th carnival.

’50 Golden Years’ will be celebrated at the 2018 event on Spring Bank Holiday Monday, May 28 as the iconic festival reaches its jubilee.

As part of the celebrations the committee would like to put a call out for previous carnival royalty to contact them, as they would like as many of the royalty from yesteryear to be involved as possible.

The committee would also be very interested in receiving any photos or film people have of previous Pershore carnivals as they are keen to put up a display on the park on carnival day.

Colin Shepherd, chairman of the Pershore Carnival committee said “We are celebrating 50 consecutive years of carnival in Pershore and we want the celebrations to be bigger and better than ever.

“We would like to invite nominations from any charitable organisations that would like to be considered as the recipient of the procession collection”

Anyone who wants to get involved with the 50th anniversary carnival through volunteering or sponsorship can visit www.pershorecarnival.co.uk or call Colin Shepherd on 01386 553585 for more information.
