Why Investing in Designer Brands Is a Good Idea

Evesham Editorial 6th Sep, 2023 Updated: 7th Sep, 2023   0

Many designer brands are high up on the wishlists of fashion enthusiasts. Some people believe these brands are all hype and that people only purchase them to be affiliated with some of the best-known names in fashion. It feels great to know that you finally own that Marc Jacobs bag you’ve always wanted or that classic Prada belt; investing in designer garments and accessories is worthwhile for many other reasons.

Take the plunge if you are ready to start investing in designer pieces. Even if you start slowly and can only purchase one new designer piece every six months or once a year, you’re adding quality and longevity to your existing wardrobe. Men’s diesel tshirts, a quality leather handbag, or a pair of Louboutin shoes are all pieces that will last and last if you take care of them. If you still need a little convincing, you have come to the right place. Here is why we believe in designer garments and accessories and why we think you should start investing in them as soon as possible.

Designer items are made to last

Designer items can come with a hefty price tag, but this cost is justified in most cases. While the fast fashion we see in supermarkets and mall stores is made quickly and cheaply and expected to last only a short time, designer garments are a different story. Garments and accessories created by designer fashion houses are well made and have been for generations; these brands are built on this. The clothing and accessories that you purchase from these companies are made to last. If you add pieces like this to your wardrobe, you can wear them for a very long time and pass them on to nieces or nephews or your kids one day, the way our parents passed on pieces of clothing to us.

The care instructions that come with your designer items are a lifeline that can help you keep them in fresh, beautiful condition for as long as possible. Whether “dry clean only” or “cool wash,” you must always follow the instructions on the leaflet and tag. If you don’t clean or care for your items correctly, they will not last how they should, and your investment will not pay off in the long run. If you buy a pair of men’s shorts, for instance, and the label says “warm wash only,” be sure to separate them from the items that need a cold wash. This extra effort will make your investment last that much longer.

Designer items are made well

So much of modern fashion is made in a rush and made using cheap materials that are not good for the planet or the people making the clothing. Designer brands have a reputation to uphold, which rests on the items they produce being of superior quality and artistry. Instead of a cheap polycotton that will never fully biodegrade and was sewn into a garment in a sweatshop in China, a designer brand will opt for a natural, high quality, high thread count material sewn into garments by well-trained and well-paid professionals. The higher the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship, the better made a piece of clothing or an accessory will be overall.

The excellent labor practices followed by designer brands ensure free compensation, safe working conditions for their employees, and employees who are well looked after doing good work. These good labor practices stand side by side with earth-safe manufacturing processes, like choosing only natural fabrics and materials as far as possible and disposing of manufacturing waste in an environmentally responsible way, which designer companies do. When you invest in a piece from a designer label, you are investing in the lives of the craftspeople who created the garment and in the environment that we all share. You are investing in fashion, the planet, and our fellow human beings.

Designer items focus on style, not trends

While runway collections often set the tone for the coming season and help define the trends that will be a part of it, the designer brands we are talking about build their collections around their sense of style rather than fads. The cuts of pants and blouses, the silhouettes of dresses, and the heel shape and height are all things you consider before purchasing a designer item. These aspects of a garment or accessory make them appeal or not appeal to your fashion sense, and if you choose carefully from the right designers, they will contribute to the look of your wardrobe for many years to come. Instead of focusing on passing trends, innovative designers lean towards classic looks that will never go out of style, which sets them and their garments apart.

They add prestige to your wardrobe

It is true: purchasing a designer garment or accessory makes you feel great and look great. It feels good to have reached a fashion goal, and saying, “Oh, this? It’s Gucci” feels great. Designer labels are a status symbol; owning a piece like that can improve your confidence. The term “stealth wealth” has been used in fashion circles lately: the designer looks without flaunting the labels. If you can nail this, your fashion game has just reached a new level. The prestige of a designer item in your wardrobe is second to nothing.

Investing in designer garments or accessories is an excellent idea. Take your time to consider your designer purchases, and you will end up with a wardrobe full of well-made and beautiful clothing and accessories that will last a long time.
