A LEGENDARY West End musical will be aired in Pershore to celebrate its 25th anniversary performance.

Recorded at the Prince Edward Theatre in London, the spectacular performance of Miss Saigon will be aired at Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre tomorrow (Saturday).

With appearances by the original cast including Jonathan Pryce and Lea Salonga, Miss Saigon tells the tragic tale of the young bar girl Kim, who falls in love with an American G.I. called Christopher Scott.

But both soon have their lives torn apart by the fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War.

After being premiered in 1989 at the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane, London, the musical enjoyed more than 4,000 performances spanning ten years.

Prior to the opening of the 2014 London revival, it was claimed Miss Saigon had set a world record for opening day ticket sales, with sales in excess of £4million.

So come along to this truly remarkable and heart-wrenching love story.

The performance will start at 7pm and run for three hours and 15 minutes.

Tickets for the event cost £13 and include an extra 85p fee if booked online.

Call the centre’s Box Office on 01386 555488 or visit www.number8.org for more information.
