AFTER a successful sell out last year, The South have added Evesham to their tour calendar once again to rock the Regal with all their much-loved classics.
The resurrection of the pop/rock band formally known as The Beautiful South, which finished in 2007 after 19 years on stage, has had a triumphant return continuing to sell out shows across the UK, and will be returning to The Regal on Friday (May 15) to perform hits such as A Little Time, Perfect 10 and Rotterdam.
Their greatest hits album, Carry On Up The Charts, was one of the fastest selling albums in UK history entering at Number One and staying there for weeks, and after 20 years, ten studio albums, thirty four chart singles and 15 million record sales worldwide, they continue to perform in front of fans from Hull to Houston.
The South’s lead female vocalist, Alison Wheeler said: “We’re all really looking forward to coming back to the Regal. On our inaugural visit last year, we were all impressed by this little gem of a venue.
“Establishments like these are few and far between and we could see how much passion each individual member of staff had in making the whole experience for us as a band, and for the people coming to the gig, as special as possible.”
The Regal’s live events manager, Laurence Wiper added: “We are thrilled to be welcoming The South back to The Regal after such a successful show last year.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and we are really looking forward to a great gig again this year.”
Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start with tickets available from £27.50, and can be purchased via The Regal’s website or by calling the box office on 01386 421007.
