Evesham Editorial 22nd May, 2017   0

THE SIGHTS and sounds of The Beatles are on offer at the Regal Cinema as the Evesham venue celebrates 50 years since the release of one of music’s most iconic albums.

On June 1, 1967 The Beatles released what would become the world’s first concept album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Described by Rolling Stone magazine as “The most important rock & roll album ever made…” the album not only changed the course of music but went on to become one of the biggest selling records of all time.

To celebrate the anniversary, the Regal is hosting a screening of a special feature-length documentary on Thursday, June 1 from 7pm.

The special documentary features interviews with former employees, fellow musicians, family members and journalists, supported by a vast array of original and exclusive never-seen-before footage.

Offering a fascinating insight into the swinging sixties and the twelve months surrounding one of the most ground-breaking and influential albums in pop history, this documentary film is a must-see for Beatles enthusiasts!

Guests are invited to reminisce and dress up in sixties style to celebrate the occasion. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed!

Tickets for It Was 50 Years Ago Today! The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper & Beyond available online at www.theregal.ac or by calling the Box Office on 01386 421007.
