A CRITICALLY acclaimed ballet performance of spellbinding and unparallelled perfection will be aired in Pershore live from Moscow.
Recorded at the renowned Bolshoi Theatre in the Russian capital, ‘Swan Lake’ will be aired at Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre this Sunday (February 5).
By moonlight on the shore of a mysterious lake, Prince Siegfried meets the bewitched swan-woman Odette. Completely enthralled by her beauty, he swears his love to her.
However, the Prince realises too late that fate has another plan for him.
Playing the dual role of the white swan Odette and her rival black swan Odile, prima ballerina Svetlana Zakharova exudes both vulnerability and cunning through superb technical mastery, alongside Denis Rodkin as a powerful and emotional Siegfried.
First performed at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1877, Swan Lake is classical ballet at its finest.
The Bolshoi’s enchanting production of Swan Lake is a masterpiece of lyricism, drama and magic. This timeless favourite embodies all the elements that have made Swan Lake the world’s best loved ballet.
The show runs from 3pm to 6pm and tickets cost £16 for adults and £10 for children aged 16 and under.
