A TRIBUTE act to one of the nations biggest artists is taking time off from travelling the UK performing with the likes of Kiki Dee to put on a one-off show in Broadway.
Paul Bacon or as he prefers to be known on stage, Ultimate Elton, tours the UK and Europe as the internationally acclaimed Sir Elton John, with 2015 tour dates covering Spain, Greece, Bulgaria and Finland.
A lifelong Elton John fan, Mr Bacon first started singing and performing Sir Elton’s songs in the early 1980’s, and with a similar singing voice to his idol, Mr Bacon began performing as Ultimate Elton; he even wears Sir Elton’s actual cloths during his shows.
Mr Bacon is heading to Broadway on the back of a Wembley performance in front of more than 80,000 spectators, but even
more notably, playing a special show for Sir Elton’s mother as part of her 90th birthday celebrations.
Mr Bacon said: “It was quite an exciting occasion to have Elton’s mother ask me to perform at her party, she saw a video of me and the band and thought it was good so got in contact and asked us to play, it was a great evening and she found it a thrill.
“I’m a massive Elton fan, growing up I had all the records and starting doing an Elton tribute act for a bit of fun and it just went form there.”
Ultimate Elton will be performing at the Stanton Village Club, near Broadway on Saturday, May 16 from 7.30pm with tickets
costing £10 per person.
