FOLLOWING last weekend’s spectacular celebrations for HM The Queen at Windsor Castle, the Regal has announced that it will be screening the award-winning stage production of The Audience.
The broadcast will take place on Thursday, June 9 at 7pm, just days before Her Majesty’s ‘official’ birthday.
Winner of three Tony Awards and two Olivier Awards, the National Theatre Live’s broadcast of the original West End production of The Audience features Dame Helen Mirren’s multi-award-winning performance as Queen Elizabeth II.
The special screening this June will include the broadcast of a question and answer session with Helen Mirren and director, Stephen Daldry.
Laurence Wiper from the Regal said; “We hope that the local community will join us in celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday at our screening of The Audience.
“It is a fantastic production which provides an entertaining insight into the private weekly meetings between Queen Elizabeth II and each of her Prime Ministers.
