ONE OF the UK’s fastest rising rock ’n’ soul sensations is heading to Evesham to perform her new critically acclaimed album.

As part of her major UK tour, Rebecca Downes will perform songs from ‘Believe’ at The Iron Road on the town’s High Street on Thursday, May 26.

Having repeatedly turned down numerous X Factor and reality talent show offers, Rebecca has remained totally independent and has had support from BBC Radio Two’s Paul Jones, BBC Introducing and Planet Rock Radio.

Written by Rebecca with co-writer Steve Birkett and produced by Mark V Stuart, Believe is the follow up to the singer’s 2015 debut album ‘Back To The Start’, which garnered critical acclaim and established Rebecca as one of the star attractions amongst the new vanguard of blues performers in the UK.

Tracks from her highly anticipated second album include ‘Sweetness’, ‘Night Train’, ‘Sailing On A Pool Of Tears’, ‘Salt Winds’ and ‘Long Long Time’.

Rebecca said: “The album title represents the belief I’ve needed to get this far and the belief we now have in the quality of our music and live performances.

Last year allowed us to measure ourselves against some of the best around and we believe we made our own mark.

“The mood of the album reflects the progress we’ve made, both musically and personally since the first album. I’m more comfortable in my life and skin and my music reflects that, showcasing how hungry I am to get that live feel onto the tracks.”

The event starts at 7.45pm and tickets cost £11.
