Opening a real box of delights

A POPULAR drama group in Pershore will be offering a true box of delights this Christmas when they soon perform their annual festive show.

Continuing its 25th anniversary celebrations, the Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society will perform ‘A Christmas

Celebration’ from Monday, December 8 to Saturday, December 13 at Pershore’s Number 8 Community Arts Centre.

Following their award-winning pantomime last year of Robin Hood, the society is welcoming back past members to join the current crop for a show aiming to get everyone right into the festive spirit.

The society had to start preparations early for this year’s festive feast because the show is chock full of variety entertainment.

The show features choral singing, familiar up-tempo Christmas numbers and stirring solo performances. And these are complemented by hilarious take-offs of children’s nativities, poetry, multiple Santas and even a potted panto.

This year also sees the return of the much-loved ‘Wassail’ with the usual mix of Christmas costumes and dazzling dance routines.

And for anybody wanting to join in with the giltz and razzmatazz, the Saturday performance will be a Gala Evening with mulled wine and fancy attire all around.

Shows will start at 7.30pm each night with an extra show taking place on Saturday, December 12 at 2.30pm.

Tickets for the show cost from £11 and are available by calling the Number 8 Box Office on 01386 555488 or visiting www.number8.org/.
