Lifting the blinds

MUSICAL duo Richard and Isabelle combine for a sharp-edged musical exploration of lives behind suburban curtains later this month.

Behind the Blinds is a new show weaving together lyrically witty and sophisticated songs to reveal what goes on behind the blinds of an ordinary looking suburban street.

The show, presented by Serrated Edge Theatre, comes to the Evesham Arts Centre on Thursday, May 22 starting at 8pm.

Firmly in the great tradition of comic and tragicomic songs, Behind the Blinds mixes the styles of Victoria Wood, Tim Minchin,

Gilbert and Sullivan and Ian Dury into a wickedly combustible cocktail.

Serrated Edge Theatre formed last year as an outlet for Richard Watson’s talent for piano playing, song writing and lyrical dexterity.

Richard is a Gloucester-based musician and composer who has written solo pieces, musicals & music for touring shows, played in jazz and rock bands & been musical director of dozens of shows.

Joining Richard is Isabelle Paige, a hugely talented singer and actress, who is the perfect accompaniment to Richard’s playing.

Her credits include touring as a diva in ‘Hooray for Hollywood’, playing Wicked Stepmother in Chipping Norton and appearing in ‘Hitler! The Musical’ on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Tickets for Behind the Blinds are on sale now costing £10 and are available by calling 01386 446944 or visiting www.eveshamartscentre.co.uk.
