Keeping everyone guessing at charity evening

WHEN an Evesham couple commissioned a murder mystery film for their Christmas charity evenings, they didn’t expect was to be kept in the dark over ‘whodunit’.

But that is the situation facing Ralph and Elizabeth Bolland ahead of their annual festive film event ‘Murder on the Aisle’ next

week.

Badsey film makers John and Will Dallimore are keeping their lips sealed as to whom the murderer is.

“Only we know, and that’s how it will stay. We are not telling anyone, not even the Bollands.” they said.

“The first time Ralph and Elizabeth will get a glimpse of it will be on the opening night, along with everybody else,” said Will

Dallimore, the film’s director.

Elizabeth Bolland, who stars in the film as super sleuth, Agatha Marbles MBE, said, “The lads were very secretive with the filming, my script was heavily redacted, and I was not allowed to watch the filming of the other scenes.”

What is known about the short film is that a murder has taken place in Badsey church, where the vicar is the victim and the murderer is one of the eleven members of the choir.

Viewers of the film will have to sort through the many clues to find the culprit. Despite its subject, the film is a comedy, and suitable for all ages.

“With the murder of a vicar you would expect ‘devilish’ clues, and the film also contains more red-herrings than a Russian trawler!.” the directors added.

‘Murder on the Aisle’, forms part of the annual Santa Special Charity Event held at 17 Binyon Close, Badsey on Wednesday to Friday (December 3 to 5) from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Non-detectives can take a peek at Ralph’s garden model railway, re-modelled since last year while all visitors receive coffee, tea and mince pies, and a chance to donate to the two local charities.

Collections will be taken on the evenings for St James Church in Badsey and the 1st Badsey Scout Group hut refurbishment fund.
