Bolshoi Ballet to be screened

A CRITICALLY-acclaimed ballet performance of spellbinding and unparallelled perfection will be aired in Pershore live from Moscow.

Recorded at the renowned Bolshoi Theatre in the Russian capital, ‘Bolshoi: Contemporary Evening’ will be aired at Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre this Sunday (March 19).

Crammed into one evening, the Bolshoi takes on a bold new challenge in Hans Van Manen’s ‘Frank Bridge’s Variations’, Sol León and Paul Lightfoot’s ‘Short Time Together’ and Alexei Ratmansky’s ‘Russian Seasons’.

Starring the Bolshoi Principals, Soloists and Corps De Ballet, this encounter between some of the best dancers in the world and the masters of contemporary choreography, results in an outstanding synthesis – raising Van Manen’s formal beauty, León and Lightfoot’s intensity and Ratmansky’s witty brilliance to a new level.

The Bolshoi Ballet is amongst the oldest and most renowned ballet companies in the world.

It is also by far the world’s biggest ballet company, having more than 200 dancers, so this is an event not to be missed!

The show runs from 3pm to 5.40pm and tickets cost £15 for adults. £14 for members and £10 for children aged 16 and under.

Call the centre’s box office on 01386 555488 or visit www.number8.org for more information.
