Things To Look Out For In Evesham In 2023

Evesham has a wide range of upcoming events for all ages and interests, with many of these events taking place this summer and Autumn.

Evesham Record Fair – 30th July

One of the largest record fairs in the UK has come to Evesham, and it’s set to be held at the Bengeworth Club. There is free onsite parking, and the event itself is also free to all entrants.

The fair offers a huge selection of vintage vinyl, rare records, and a selection of other music-related accessories. There is also a wide selection of CDs and cassettes for modern music lovers, alongside music-related literature also on offer.

Dealers and traders from all around congregate to this event, so don’t miss this amazing opportunity to buy some rare gems and build your own collection.

Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival – 5th – 7th August

Attracting visitors from a wide array of backgrounds, perhaps one of the most anticipated events of the 2023 Evesham calendar is the upcoming Evesham Medieval Festival. Renowned for its wide range of Medieval activities, displays, and fayre, this brilliant event is one you won’t want to miss.

One of the greatest features of this much loved event is that there’s something for guests of all ages, from archery and artisan cuisine to the authentic medieval market (complete with a live band of musicians). It also happens to be England’s largest gathering of 13th Century reenactment soldiers.

For those wanting a fun day out, entry is free for all ages, making it a great way to spend a few hours and even learn something about life in Evesham hundreds of years ago.

Evesham Angling Festival and Craft Fair – 26th – 28th August

If you love a spot of angling and fishing, the Evesham Angling Festival and Craft Fair is no doubt the place to be! Hosted at Crown Meadow on Abbey Road, the fair offers a little of everything, helping make it an incredibly popular destination each year.

Plus, the Angling Festival itself is often pushed as the largest outdoor coarse fishing event in the UK, making it even more popular among those wanting to try their hand at a spot of fame or glory.

Entry to the Evesham Angling Festival is free, although on-site parking is a premium extra. Still, at just £7 per car, it’s hard to deny that this is still amazing value for money.

SS Suevic – A Tale of Shipwreck and Survival – 13th October

The splendid Holland House is set to host a historic and intriguing event this Autumn, diving deep into the history and amazing story of the SS Suevic. A series of ill-fated incidents saw her run aground in 1907 in the midst of a Cornish storm; amazingly, the RNLI were able to save 456 people in as little as 16 hours, with not a single life lost to the event. Truly a remarkable achievement that’s well worth celebrating to this day.

The event includes a 2-course lunch and talk, as well as allowing guests the opportunity to explore the house and gardens. Tickets are priced at £20 per head – not bad at all, considering food and drinks are on offer.

Ed Byrne: Tragedy Plus Time – 12th October

As someone who’s got something of a reputation for top-quality acts, there’s no doubt that Ed Byrne’s upcoming Tragedy Plus Time tour performance is set to be a big hit. Coming to Evesham at The Regal on the 12th of October, Ed’s delving deep into one of the most harrowing stories in his life – but don’t worry, because it’s guaranteed still to be packed with laughs and hilarity.

Mrs Churchill – My Life with Winston – 18th November

We all know the story of Winston Churchill (to varying degrees, of course). However, few people would have ever known him better than his wife of more than half a century, Clementine Churchill.

With this in mind, the tale of Mrs Churchill – My Life with Winston, as portrayed by Liz Grand, is no doubt a moving and powerful rendition that provides a deeper insight into the lives of these very high-profile figures.

At just £12 (including nibbles, wine, and soft drinks), this performance is one that no WWII lover will want to miss.
