PERSHORE residents are in for a treat when a talk from one of the world’s most celebrated writers is aired live into Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre.
Live from London’s Royal Festival Hall, ‘John le Carré: An Evening with George Smiley’ will offer the chance for audiences to hear from le Carré as he discusses the full breadth of his career in this one-off event, on Thursday, September 7.
Coinciding with the publication date of his new novel, A Legacy of Spies, which sees the return of some of le Carré’s most iconic Cold War characters, the acclaimed writer will reflect on the continuing story of his most famous creation, the tubby, bespectacled spy, George Smiley.
The evening will also include readings from the book and a rare question and answer session with the famed author.
This is an unmissable opportunity to experience one of the foremost chroniclers of our age, direct and in his own words.
Le Carré and producers The Ink Factory will donate the event profits to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders.
The event starts at 7.45pm and tickets cost £14 for adults and £13 for friends of Pershore Number 8 Community Arts Centre, and includes an 85p booking fee if bought online.
Call the centre’s Box Office on 01386 555488 or visit www.number8.org for more information.
