AN ENCHANTING showcase for the whole family will be on offer when the award-winning Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society showcase an array of exceptional local talent in the spellbinding family production of Once Upon a Song at the town’s arts centre.

Once Upon a Song delves into a land of fantasy, magic, and the supernatural. The show includes music, dance and poetry from some of the world’s best loved fairy tales and stories, such as Harry Potter, Beauty and the Beast,

Matilda, The Little Mermaid, Wicked, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Greatest Showman.

Once Upon a Song will take audiences on an enchanting and mystical adventure that all ages, from the young to the young at heart, will enjoy from Thursday, May 17 to Saturday, May 19.

Those looking for an extra sprinkling of fairy dust can take part in the fancy dress competition which is being held at the Saturday matinee performance at 2.30pm.

The most bewitching fairy tale costume will win the opportunity to meet and greet with the cast after the show, as well as a few more special treats.

Bethaney Rimmer, director of Once Upon a Song, said: “This show is all about escapism – forgetting about everything in the real world and being immersed in imaginative stories and incredible music. It’s exciting to offer an experience the whole family, from little ones to great-grandparents, can enjoy together. There will be something for everybody.”

“I’ve been immensely fortunate to have worked with an extremely talented cast and production team. For me, theatre and performance are magical in their own right; it’s been a privilege to watch so many members of the society come out of their shell and become captivating solo performers, whereas in previous shows they hid away in the background.

“I cannot wait for audiences to see this show because they’re going to have a fantastic time.”

Once Upon a Song will be peformed from Thursday to Saturday at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.
