THERE was double medal delight for Flyford Flavell’s Amy Weston at the Surf Life Saving Association of Wales National Lifesaving Championships.

The Pershore High School student, a member of South Worcestershire Lifesaving Club, was in impressive form at the competition which comprised of individual and team events.

Fourteen-year-old Amy achieved two golds with the team and a silver in the individual 100m rescue medley (50m swim, 17.5m underwater to recover an eight-stone manikin, bring to surface and complete the remaining 32.5m).

This event marked the beginning of the National Lifesaving Championships throughout the United Kingdom and Amy will be competing at the Olympic Pool in London, along with other team members from her Pershore-based club, at the end of February.
