WARRIORS have confirmed the EPCR Challenge Cup match against Biarritz Olympique due to be played at Sixways on Saturday has been postponed.
The decision has been taken by the tournament organisers following consultation with French clubs and Ligue Nationale de Rugby after the imposition of travel restrictions to and from the United Kingdom by the French Government.
“While we have sympathy for Biarritz we are disappointed that Saturday’s match will not be going ahead as planned,” the club statement read.
“With the COVID-19 protocols and testing programme which are in place, we are confident it would have been possible for the match to be played here in a safe and controlled environment. We are also disappointed for our season ticket holders and supporters who were looking forward to the visit of Biarritz for our last home match before Christmas.”
Details of a new date for the Biarritz match will be confirmed in due course.
The Premiership Rugby Under-18s Academy League match between Warriors Under-18s and their Sale Sharks counterparts will go ahead as planned on Saturday with a 5.30pm kick-off.
Admission to Warriors Under-18s v Sale Sharks Under-18s is free. Blocks A to C of the West Stand will be open for this match.
The Skate@Sixways ice rink and fun fair will be open as normal on Saturday.
