Something to Think About

THE PHRASE ‘It is no good cutting corners’ is something worth adhering to.

At some stage before my occupancy, a new kitchen window had been fitted to my bungalow but the installers had cut corners by not replacing some of the bricks and just filled the space with concrete.

I recently purchased an awning for this window and one of the brackets had to be fitted where there was no brickwork just the concrete.

Because it is a bungalow there is no room for manoeuvre and needless to say the bracket is pulling and causing the concrete to crack.

Now I am having to have a piece of metal plate made that will be screwed into the surrounding brickwork and will hold the troublesome concrete in place.

It is no good ‘cutting corners’ because somewhere along the line rectification will have to take place.

To his disciples, Jesus Christ’s plans for the future seemed to be so outrageous and ridiculous that they kept trying to put him off carrying out those plans and saying that there must be some other way.

But he knew, and we now know, that there was to be no ‘cutting corners’, for the plan had to work to enable people like us to know and enjoy the Love of God.

Jesus gave his life so that we can know of the New Life, which comes from God through him.

Don’t just take my word for it, read the Four Gospels in the ‘Bible’ and see for yourself.
