A VAN driver in his 20s died after a collision involving his white Ford Transit van in a village near Evesham.

The incident took place on Blakes Hill in North Littleton on Tuesday (March 14) at about 8.20pm.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which is believed to have occurred when the van was travelling towards North Littleton from Pebworth.

Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, a critical care paramedic and the Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Strensham were sent to the scene.

On arrival, they discovered one car had left the road and ended up in water.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The driver, a man, was in a critical condition on arrival. Ambulance crews provided advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

His next of kin have been informed.

PC Alex Green from West Mercia Police’s operations policing unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died in this collision.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information or dash-cam footage which may help with the investigation to call me.
