THE body of a man who was found in the River Avon last Saturday (August 12) has now been identified, police have confirmed.
He has been identified as a 66-year-old from Pershore following an appeal launched by West Mercia Police yesterday for the public’s help to identify him.
His body was recovered from the water near the K52 lock at Eckington, near Pershore, at about 9.20am last Saturday.
His next of kin have been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
