NEW exercise classes designed for older and less active individuals will soon be launching in Evesham and Pershore.

Residents are being encouraged to take part in the inclusive Forever Active Strength and Balance classes, designed to promote health, strength and confidence through gentle exercise.

The classes led by experienced instructor, Jim Carroll, are perfect for individuals aged 65 and above, while they remain open to all age groups.

Sessions will be held at Pershore Leisure Centre every Thursday (11.30am to 12.30pm) and every Friday at Evesham Leisure Centre in Studio One (11.30am to 12.30pm).

The “Forever Active” classes offer a mix of standing and chair-based exercises, including resistance bands and light dumbbells.

The scheme is made possible through a partnership with PAL Fitness Education CIC and funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.

And will run for a 10-week pilot scheme, providing participants with an extended opportunity to experience the benefits of these specially designed sessions.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Forever Active classes, bringing a new dimension of fitness and well-being to our community,” said Sam Busby, Health & Fitness Manager at Rivers Leisure Centres.

“We believe in making fitness accessible to everyone, and these classes are designed to cater to a diverse range of participants, including those with long term health conditions.”

Classes will provide an opportunity to engage in conversation with Jim Carroll about their wellness journey. Free refreshments will be provided.

Sessions cost: £4.50 (Free for Rivers members). Rivers is a community-focused not-for-profit organisation committed to promoting health and well-being through accessible fitness facilities, classes and programmes.

Visit www.riversfitness.co.uk to book. Alternatively, phone the centre on 01386 552346 (Pershore) or 01386 444212 (Evesham) to book in.
