AN AUCTION of promises at Pershore Tennis Centre served up fund-raising success with more than £5,500 netted for the club.
The inspiring tennis team worked together to raise vital funds which will help refurbish the existing courts.
It has five all-weather outdoor courts: three with new artificial clay surfaces, plus three indoor courts with state-of-the-art LED lighting, meaning tennis at Pershore truly is an all-weather, all-year round sport.
They also have a large custom-built clubhouse offering refreshments as well as toilet and shower facilities.
Organiser and member Chris Woodcock, said: “The auction of promises held on November 18 at Elmley Castle Village Hall was a huge success.
“We had a wonderful array of 54 lots and raised more than £5,000 on the night. The bidding, quiz and games were very entertaining, and we enjoyed a delicious two course meal provided by a group of members. All proceeds go to the court refurbishment.
“My thanks go to all who worked so hard and gave generously to making the night such a success.”
The club have now raised just over £5,500 in total and extend a special mention their wonderful auctioneer Tony Wadley for his efforts.
