AN E-SCOOTER was seized in Evesham on Sunday (June 7) by police officers in Deacle Place for being ridden without insurance.
They would like to remind the public that privately owned e‑scooters cannot be used on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes in the UK.
E-scooters may only be ridden on private land with the landowner’s permission.
A spokesperson said: “This is set out in national legislation and remains an important part of keeping our roads and public spaces safe.
“For anyone unsure of the rules, you can read more about e‑scooter legislation and vehicle insurance requirements.”
They added that the rider was spoken to and appropriate action was taken.
