EVESHAM bus users will have the chance to voice their concerns over the future of local bus services at a forthcoming public forum organised by transport campaigners Vale Bus and Rail (VBR).
Following the recent success of the Pershore forum on April 11 which saw more than 70 users attending an event at Pershore Town Hall, the focus now switches to Evesham.
On Saturday, May 9 at 10am, bus operators, county council transport providers and councillors representing all tiers of local government are invited to attend the meeting along with the public at The Immaculate Conception and St Ecgwin’s Church Hall in High Street.

VBR committee members Neal Cartwright, Julian Palfrey (chair), Ann Lyon, (secretary) and Julie Tucker (vice chair) in High Street, Evesham.
A lack of bus services from Evesham to Broadway on Saturdays and the total lack of services from the neighbouring Vale villages of Fladbury, Cropthorne and Charlton are likely to feature on the agenda.
The need to improve promotion and publicity of existing services to boost usage will also be discussed.
VBR campaigners are also urging simplification of timetables with more detailed route knowledge and better integration of services with regard to bus rail links.
Organisers have said that this particularly applies to the number 28 service which runs from Evesham to Stratford, leaving from the top of Station Drive/Approach.
VBR chair Julian Palfrey said: “We were very impressed by the turnout and the constructive comments of the Pershore audience and the positive approach of the county council.
“We look forward to this opportunity to hear the views of Evesham users and to progressing initiatives with transport providers.”
