ORGANISERS of the annual Vale of Evesham Art Exhibition (VofEAS) have heralded last Easter weekend’s exhibition a resounding triumph.
Visitors to four-day event at Lifford Hall, Broadway, enjoyed browsing the colourful and creative mix of original artworks that included prints, drawings, mosaic, glasswork and cards.
Saturday proved the busiest day with numbers topping 140 and a total of 250 people took part in the visitor’s choice vote for favourite artwork which went to Shady Shambles by Lesley Brockbank.

It was a great exhibition for the Evesham-based artist who was also given the Vale of Evesham Civic Society local place award for Gateway, Evesham, a watercolour and pen drawing.
This year the competition was judged on behalf of the society by Zoe Stephens and Mike Worrall.
Organiser Julie Jones told the Observer: “The exhibition was a huge success.
“We measure this in a number of ways through visitor engagement and their enjoyment as well as in art sales.
“Going by the positive comments given verbally and via the visitor book people love to return year upon year and we are most grateful for their support of our local artists.
She added: “Among the higher-cost art purchases, mosaics were popular this year as were hand-painted cards.”
“The exhibition success really is guided by our visitors, we just keep doing what we love.”

VofEAS started in the 1970s and holds regular monthly workshops by professional artists. Visit https://www.vofeas.co.uk/ for more information.
