DESIGN brand Robert Welch has won a top industry award for a new, innovative stainless-steel cutlery collection.
The Chipping Campden company, family-run since 1955, picked up a Tableware International Award of Excellence for its Palm Air Bright cutlery.
Hollow-handled, Palm Air’s design draws inspiration from the flowing lines of tropical palm trees and blends advanced manufacturing techniques with heritage craftsmanship and sculptural form.
Judges at Ambiente, the leading hospitality showcase in Frankfurt, called Palm Air ’a wonderful combination of aesthetics and ergonomics’.
It is part of Robert Welch’s Master Collection of cutlery – design-led statement pieces requiring the highest level of manufacturing expertise.
It is the latest addition to the Palm collection of cutlery and award-winning salt and pepper mills, found in hospitality and domestic settings worldwide, including Emirates’ first- and business-class cabins.
Global head of sales, Jurgen Bresseel, said: “Winning the Tableware International Awards of Excellence with our new cutlery design, Palm Air, was a proud moment for the entire team.”
“It’s a meaningful recognition of the thought, craftsmanship and detail that go into every piece we create. For the business, it strengthens our brand credibility internationally and underlines our continued leadership in the cutlery category.”
Within its portfolio, Robert Welch has more than 40 cutlery designs – including Radford, the largest stainless-steel cutlery range in the world – award-winning kitchen knives, performance cookware, tabletop pieces, and bathroom accessories.
It ships to more than 100 countries worldwide, and its iconic designs can be found in some of the world’s most renowned hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants.
Its latest collection, which it also unveiled at Ambiente, is Dorset – a barware range designed in collaboration with leading US retailer Williams Sonoma.
“It’s a collection that reflects our design philosophy and long-standing heritage,” added Jurgen.
