A DRINK driver from Evesham has been sentenced for causing the death of a motorcyclist after a crash in May last year.

Sean Arnold, 38, had already admitted to causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drink and causing serious injury to a woman (his passenger) by careless driving, appeared at Worcester Crown Court today (March 31).

Arnold, who is currently serving three years for causing grievous bodily harm with intent was sentenced to five years and six months to run concurrently, and disqualified from driving for five years with an extension of 36 months from today.

He has also been ordered to sit an extended driving test.

The collision on Evesham Road, Norton on May 25, involved four vehicles – a tractor towing a muck spreader, two cars – one driven by Arnold – and a motorbike.

Sadly, the motorbike rider Allister Homes from Cheltenham was killed at the scene.

Arnold, formerly of Evesham Road, Norton and currently of HMP Oakwood, Wolverhampton was driving a black Jeep Renegade when it collided with the back of a tractor coming in the opposite direction.

This manoeuvre resulted in him losing control of the car striking Mr Homes’ motorbike which was coming the other way.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said at the time: “The driver and four passengers from the Jeep were taken to hospital with injuries.

“The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

Arnold was found guilty on August 7, 2025 of an unprovoked attack on a man in Cheltenham following a trial at Cirencester Courthouse.
