A NEW set of welcome signs designed to celebrate the Pershore’s character, heritage, and natural beauty.

Unveiled by Pershore Place Board, each sign features imagery chosen to reflect the town’s most recognisable and best-loved assets, including the abbey, historic bridges and plums.

The six new pictorial signs positioned at key gateways into Pershore with the aim of creating a friendlier, more distinctive welcome for visitors while strengthening local pride in the town’s identity.

Michael Hodges, chair of the Pershore Place Board, said: “Our board is made up of people who care deeply about Pershore, and we wanted the signs to reflect the town as residents know it – full of history, nature, and local character.

“We’re delighted with the result and grateful to everyone involved, from the designers to the partners who helped bring the project to life.”

The project has been funded through Wychavon’s share of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and delivered in partnership with Worcestershire County Council Highways.

Richard Morris, portfolio holder for economic growth and tourism at Wychavon, added: “Pershore has a unique charm and a strong sense of place, and these new signs capture that beautifully.

“They showcase the landmarks and landscapes that make the town special, and they do so in a way that feels modern, welcoming, and unmistakably Pershore.

“This project is a great example of how investment can deliver visible, meaningful improvements for our communities.”

Installation of the signs is underway, with photographs of each location to be revealed once all works are complete.
