Evesham opticians on the look out for books for care home residents

TO MARK this Friday’s World Storytelling Day an Evesham opticians is launching a campaign to help create a lending library for local care home residents.

All of this week until Saturday, 21 March, Specsavers in Bridge Street will be collecting new and pre-loved books to replenish Greenhill Care Home’s bookshelves.

With a limited volume of books currently available to read, the scheme hopes to provide plenty of new material for the residents to enjoy and discuss.

“World Storytelling Day is all about the joy of a great story, so when we heard that the residents at Greenhill only have a few books to choose from, we wanted to step in and help,” said store director Anna Blyth.

“We hope the Evesham community will join us in filling their shelves with some new and exciting reads.”

Residents can donate any unwanted books at the shop located at 24 Bridge Street.
