THIS STUNNING photograph of a kingfisher titled ‘No fishing’ was taken by Evesham photographer Mike Evans two weeks ago at Severn Valley Country Park.
Mike, a member of Evesham Photo Group said: “I met up with some birders and we had a long chat about kingfishers and possible areas to find them. So, I decided to go up by Severn Valley and see if I could get lucky but when I got there the ‘pros’ were ready to leave.
“They had been there all morning and the kingfisher was a no show. I decided to stay and I took some images of a robin and a couple of other birds and then the kingfisher decided to show up.”
A professional photographer specialising in fine art portraiture, Mike joined the Evesham Photo Group last year and attends the weekly sessions whenever he can. “I’ve found them very informative and welcoming, and it’s a lovely group of people to spend time with,” he added.
The club meets every Monday at 7.30pm at Friends Meeting House in Cowl Street, Evesham from September to May.
