Evesham man charged after death of pedestrian in Birmingham

AN EVESHAM man has been charged over the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a car in Birmingham.

The incident happened in Highters Heath Lane, around 7.40pm on November 7.

The man, in his 70s, had been seriously hurt and tragically died a short time afterwards.

West Midlands Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit began immediate enquiries and Tyrone Clarke was later arrested.




The 50-year-old, from Evesham, was subsequently charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving a vehicle whilst uninsured and theft of a motor vehicle. He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (Thursday).

The family of the man who died are being supported by specialist officers, and have been kept up to date with these developments.


The investigation into the collision is continuing, and West Midlands Police has urged anyone with information or footage who has not yet spoken to officers to please get in touch.
