THE NEW year kicks off in fine classical musical fashion with the fourth concert of Evesham and District Music Club next Saturday (January 17) at 7.30pm.
The first 2026 concert at All Saints Church opens with a duet of oboe and piano featuring former woodwind finalist of the BBC Young Musician Ewan Millar accompanied by Welsh pianist Tomos Boyles.
Together the talented pair who have been performing together for the past three years will present a recital including works by Musgrave, Finzi, Ravel, Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn.

Ewan is recognised as one of the most promising oboists of his generation and came to international attention in 2021 when he became a finalist in the prestigious youth competition.
Since then he has performed as a soloist in recitals and concertos around the UK.
Tomos Boyles is rapidly carving out a career as a young and exciting concert pianist.
He has performed at numerous prestigious venues including St Martin in the Fields, St David’s Hall in Cardiff and the Holywell Music Room in Oxford.

Recent performances include solo recitals at the Ludlow Piano Festival, the Beaumaris Festival, and the Wigmore Hall.
He has enjoyed success in competitions, having recently been awarded the first prize at the 2025 Dudley International Piano Competition.
